Happy Thought #62 Dreams

What are Dreams? Dreams are the source of all creation.  If you look around you, everything started as a thought that was a dream to someone and that dream was held on to tenaciously.  It was never doubted and then it became a reality.

I am not referring to the dreams that we have when we are asleep but rather to daytime, lucid dreams.  Robin Easton speaks about lucid dreams on her blog site and tells us the role that they play in her life.  We all need dreams.  Without dreams there is no hope.  It is hope that makes us face a challenge, survive a concentration camp while we dream of the change that is certain to come.  So never give up on a dream.  The manifestation of your dream is inevitable as long as you hang on to it,  as long as you visualize it and believe that it will be.  As Dr. Wayne Dyer says you need to believe it and then you will see it.  I am not quite sure where in our evolution we came up with the idea that believing needed confirmation; that I will only believe it when I see it.  If that were true then so many of our scientists, explorers, engineers, architects, doctors … the list could go on forever … would not have created the amazing creations that surround us and make up our world.  The world that we live in would be so very different.

When I think of a person manifesting a dream, in spite of unsurmountable barriers and challenges, I think of T.E. Lawrence a.k.a. Lawrence of Arabia and he said:  ”All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”

So I encourage you to dream, dream big without any limitations.  Believe in your dream and watch it magically come into existence – that is a very happy thought!

I admit that I’m interested in the deeper meaning of dreams. I’m sure that the ancient Greek philosophers could see something familiar in Dr. Dyer’s belief. I admit that I’ve only read “The Symposium” by Plato, but I’m sure that ancient thinkers saw some correlation between a thought and a manifestation. Alongside that, I admit that the idea of a dream carrying hope is nice.

Deeper meaning of dreams … my thoughts are that sometimes we try to read too much into them. I just enjoy them when I have them for what they are, travel into the realm of all possibilities.

Dreams are a happy thought, aren’t they?

I agree with Stefan. All the ancient thinkers seem to have been saying the same things over centuries. When, one wonders, will we ever be enlightened to the degree of belief, rather than just philosophizing about it? That will be some moment indeed!
